Updating data sources with dataadapters

If multiple statements are executed, the value returned is the sum of the records affected by all of the statements executed.

The following code example executes an INSERT statement to insert a record into a database using Execute Non Query. Ole Db Command object, the Return Value parameter must be added to the Parameters collection first.

Calling Accept Changes will not replicate these changes back to the data source if the Data Set was filled using a Data Adapter. See Updating Data Sources with Data Adapters for more information.

Also I would you DONT want to be doing 'new Application Table Adapter()' because typically you would want to update with the Table Adaptor you populated with, at the least you would need to ensure you had the correct connection, query etc set up.SOLUTION: It happens that nothing was wrong with the code. I forgot to remove the first one after I removed a previous database that had errors in it.Upon removing the first Connection String, everything worked.method determines the type of change that has been performed on it (Insert, Update or Delete).Using the Data Reader can increase application performance both by retrieving data as soon as it is available, and (by default) storing only one row at a time in memory, reducing system overhead.

The objects to retrieve data from and resolve changes to the data source.

The following code example executes the stored procedure created by the sample code in Performing Catalog Operations.

No rows are returned by the stored procedure, so the Execute Non Query method is used, but the stored procedure does receive an input parameter and returns an output parameter and a return value.
